I am an L.A and O.C. based artist currently working with collage to explore my interests in culture and assimilation. I received my MFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2007.

I am interested in identity and how it is shaped and defined by cultural institutions. I have been exploring the microcosm of the nuclear family and the business establishment by which my family maintains independent sustenance. By focusing on the subjective and experiential aspect of human interaction, analogies in the larger, broader systems of institution are spontaneously and simultaneously dealt with and discussed.

A major concept that interests me is the binary between dependence and independence. Experience tells me that I have been dependent on institutions to survive and that I am also the product of the institutions. I am always a part of the whole and inextricably linked. From one place to another and from one system to the next, I am constantly consuming and assimilating to survive.
